SOA has become a strategic imperative for Organizations today. Those without a strategy for SOA, risk being outpaced and out performed by the competitors who are better equipped to serve customers, seize opportunities and respond to change. But, SOA brings new challenges that must be addressed and new complexities that must be managed.
Software testing is an art. Most of the testing methods and practices are not very different from 20 years ago. But, traditional approach to testing is insufficient in SOA environment. Organizations who are trying to accomplish or get engaged with SOA must rethink their approach to SOA methodologies and testing methods and revise their roles and testing responsibilities.
This paper describes the approach one should follow for SOA testing, identifies risks and challenges of SOA testing faced by organization and suggests an approach for taking these on. Thereby rising above the challenges of SOA testing.
